She has been ventilated for many years and can now only move her eyes but she still is able to communicate with us and lives nevertheless a self-determined life as well as her illness allows. Maria lives in Munich with her family, who originally comes from Corfu, Greece. It's been 24 years since she was last there. Her illness no longer allowed her to travel. Her longing, her desire to come back to the Ionian Sea, to Corfu and her big greek family, was so deeply felt. Maria is an extremely strong personality and she managed to inspire us to help make her dream come true. This film is not sad. It shows that joy of life, happiness, love and friendship do not always depend on a healthy body. And that we can achieve so much together.
