Counting the Dead
2015 Multimedia Installation, 7 ´42´´ Since 2000, more than 35000 refugees and migrants have died attempting to reach Europe. In this multimedia installation are counted death cases which took place at the European borders from the beginning of July to the end of October 2015. The image sequence of Agapanthus africanus was created exactly during this period. The name of the plant derives from the Greek word agape. In the New Testament, the word agape conveys God's pure love: an unconditional, one-sided, liberating and centered love.
